Final Critique Image

  1. I think this is much stronger than your previous images. It looks like one of those brochures you would find on a road-trip. My only suggestion would be to blend the map a little more into the tree at the top.

  2. this is very well done! and I like it more than your previous image. It is much more together than the other one. it's great how the maps' roads and the tree branches intertwine and mix together. the frame of road signs works well too.

  3. You've done a great job integrating the map into the tree. The addition of the state signs around the border helps tie it all together, so great choice!

  4. i really like how you integrated the images of the maps into the leaves of the tree. I think this is working much better than your in progress one where you had it along the trunk. the border also obviously fits in with your concept, so i think that was a great choice.

  5. Good job on resolving the image further! It's looking great so far.
My only crit on this is maybe resolving the tension between the picture of the tree vs the boarder. Maybe have that space be more tree branches or vines?

  6. the frame was a nice touch, as was the choice to incorporate the tree branches into the road maps, which resonates well with me.

  7. Your image has really come a long way since the first one with the pink flowers. I think the relationship between the maps and the leaves is fascinating because some of the shapes overlap, resembling leaves versus states/districts. Maybe you could experiment more with the overlap of these two elements .... the bright leaves on the outside seem dominant compared to the center which is mostly map. I think your new choice in tree image was smart because the trunk references a long road and relates to your 'growth through life' idea.

  8. This is much stronger than the versions you have shown at previous critiques. I definitely read this tree as standing tall through the middle of all of these different territories - a reference to yourself? I usually don't like frames within graphic design pieces but your framing device works really well! I think if the viewer doesn't see the maps in the middle at first glance, the outer license "Welcome to" signs pull them back inside and you have this "oh" moment. Great job!

  9. I think this is working better. The composition with the tree angle is a lot more dynamic and interesting than your previous ones. The map and sign reference has more clarity and I can easily see it references a traveler. I like the transparency through the map onto the leaves. You have made a huge improvement in the last couple of days, good job.

  10. This is work getting much better than the first iteration. Some Of the images seem to compete in the border – Kentucky for instance – so maybe subdue them a tad more. The tree in the central image with the map is working great – I really like the improvements. I also love that you're taking chances with the Pictureplane in using the border as a Compositional element. Seems like problem now needs to go towards the border area and bring it up to the same level. Either maybe using the perspective tool to straight out the type, or maybe just Layer Them more.

  12. This piece has come along really nicely. The border is a nice resolving touch. I'm also really intrigued by how the maps resemble the shapes of the leaves and how the branches connect with the lines in the road maps. Smart decisions.
